Site News: News & Updates

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 4:30 PM EDT

I apologize for the lack of news and updates this past month. Most of August has been pretty busy on a personal level. On a business level, I've attended to some of my duties within the franchise division. Things over all haven't exactly slowed down, I wanted to inform our franchises, field agents, clients, and other visitors world wide that I haven't forgotten about Ghostbusters International®.

I'll be posting news and other updates as the week continues. Please check back.

Site News: Archives - July 2007

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 4:33 PM EDT

The easiest way to start off site updates was by archiving July '07 news and site updates. Yes, this means that I will have to move the archives to the ECU layout. Hopefully it'll be the last time. ::crosses my fingers::

Event News: Zombie Walk 2007 (Vancouver)

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 3:25 PM EDT

The 2007 Vancouver Zombie walk is taking place today from 3-5 PM PDT. According to Proton Charging there will be some kind of ghost head gathering among the other humans and zombies. Whether they're involved with the parade or around Hornby St. they'll be 'busting heads in a spiritual sense, of course. If you run into them, the 'busters, not the zombies, they'll also be handing out a zombie pamphlet.

We'd also encourage you to donate to Chris. Your donation gets you a Proton Charging pin. Donations go to the BC Children’s Hospital.

The Vancouver Zombie walk takes place at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Which is located at 750 Hornby St. in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Event News: GBI At Dragon*Con 2007

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 3:32 PM EDT

Chace and the staff from Central Georgia Ghostbusters will be at Dragon*Con 2007 in one week. They'll be riding in Spectre-1 in the Dragon*Con parade Saturday morning. During the weekend's other activities, they'll be running a recruitment drive for the club.

We still don't know if the Proptopia Ghostbusters table will be taking place. If you're one of the fans who will be suited up and want to help promote Ghostbusters International® too, let us know please. If you're a member of GBI and are going to be there we hope you'll join the recruitment drive while having fun too. If possible, let us know, either by email or the forums.

We're sure William Atherton would love to see our documents and other papers.

As a fan overall, if you tire of the usual stuff Dragon*Con can offer, check out the Troma booth. Chace will be there promoting "Super Tromette Action Movie Go!" Talk about busy, he leads the Central GA Ghostbusters, assists with directing movies, and acts. Tell him Spengs sent you. Well, not really, it'd would be cool, kinda.

Ghostbusters International® Literature: Zombies

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 3:07 PM EDT

As you know from reading earlier updates about the Zombie Walk, zombie pamphlets from the corportate office were handed out. Its an updated pamphlet which is probably why I didn't receive my physical copy yet. The company and Proton Charging have put the 2 page pamphlet on-line.

Thank you for putting it together.

Media News: Sega Genesis Ghostbusters Commercial

Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 4:29 PM EDT

Ghostbusters as a video game had its earlier start on early personal computers, such as Commodore 64. Ghostbusters was ported to the home console market, from Atari to NES. Which should have been the case with Sega. The porting didn't exactly happen. 16 bit graphics (remember those?) allowed for more depth with video games. This may have been part of the reason Ghostbusters, didn't have the same story and game play. Thankfully.

Ghostbusters for Sega Genesis first began selling on June 29, 1990. The above commerical wasn't soley for Ghostbusters. Sega must have felt the three games tied in. We can't be sure of that.

Credit: Ectofiend for posting the commericial on GBN.
