Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 11:30 AM EST
On March 16, 2008 the 2008 Canadian 80s Toy Expo is being held in Burlington, Ontario. According to the web site, there will be dealers selling Ghostbusters toys. If anyone is going, we'd like to hear about what types of Ghostbusters toys (ie: RGB, NECA) or other merchandise will be available. Perhaps some of our Canadian franchises can attend the toy expo.

Corporate News: Franchise Start Up Costs Discussion Thread
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 12:20 PM EST
Corporate asked me at the beginning of the month to put up an new section on the site which would outline what it costs to start a franchise. This would help prospective field agents, franchises, and keep our current field agents and franchises up-to-date. For some reason I didn't have an updated itemized list. Neither did Client Services.
While its not my full responsibility, I knew it would be easier to talk to my associates in the building and beyond the security monitored front doors. Employees have been discussing the mainly current pricing of equipment. We're close to finalizing equipment prices as of this month. If you have an opinion, thought, or question about the pricing, please post in this thread.
On a related note we've begun to put the new Franchise Information page together for the site. We hope it'll be up by the middle of February. Please check back for updates.

Site News: Event Report & News Article Archives

Lasted updated at 6:29 PM EST
Recently, while my friend and boss, Bill Malkin was going through old GBNJ email, he found a event report I had written. The report came from a time when I split my employment between running the JerZey Ghostbusters, being a member of a Ghostbusting "alliance," (with Bill) and of course working for Corporate.
On a sunny, yet windy February 13th, circa 2003 Bill and I coordinated a small franchise gathering of sorts to one of New Jersey's largest malls. After sorta being kicked out, we drove down the NJ Turnpike to continue our gathering...at the Jackson Outlet Shopping Center.
I didn't make the connection then, in a sense Bill and I were like The Knights Templar. In their honor and the reason February 13th has so much meaning, the report is titled, The Jersey Templars. I like it. I could have also called it Jersey The 13th. That seemed to take away from the events of our day and conjure up some movie parody.
Also recently I came across an almost lost newspaper article (found on-line) about our former franchise, the Middle Tennessee Ghostbusters. The article is from October 29, 2001. It was published in The City Paper, a newspaper out of Nashville, TN. The article, "Busting the Ghostbusters" is significant as it pre-dates Ghostbusters International® as we've come to know it. If it wasn't for Andy "Andrew" Mays and Albert Roberts originally, there might not be a global (international) fan club like this for Ghostbusters. I might not have gotten into "the other side of the fan base," and in 2008 Ghostbusters for me could just be memories and movies. That and an upcoming video game. =)
The article was probably the first real news article about a franchise in the 21st Century that was printed by an off-line media outlet. I had been wanting to preserve the article for years. After finding the url again, I knew it was finally time "Busting the Ghostbusters" was transfered to our site.
I'm sorry for the out of place ? marks that are littered throughout the page. It has something to do with the coding of the newspaper's website. It shouldn't take away from "Busting the Ghostbusters" written by Susan Passi-Klaus.

Site News: "Valentine's Day, Bummer."
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 7:44 PM EST
Since today can bring out emotions that may be better left between you and your loved one, I thought it might be interesting to look back at an update from 1 year ago. In the news/blog like posting, titled Film News: Ghostbusters 3 I shared my "emotional state" about a possible Ghostbusters 3, which had been confirmed by Dan Aykroyd earlier in the month.
What we didn't know then is that Ghostbusters 3 is actually a new video game in the works that is suppose to be the closest thing to Ghostbusters 3 ever. After reading my feelings about Ghostbusters 3 from 2.14.07, how many other fans are glad Ghostbusters 3 is not going to a CGI tyoe of animated film?
