Indiana Ghostbusters Haunted House Bust
By The Indiana Ghostbusters
Hey everyone! It's every ghosthead's favorite time of year, and that means it's also time for the Indiana Ghostbusters to hit the streets in the greater Indianapolis area to check for pesky spooks and bring a smile to people's faces.
First off, a link to the photos from the evening.
This year after calling around to a few haunted houses in the area we decided to hit The Asylum House in Greenwood. After going through we all agreed this was definitely one of the best haunted houses any of us had ever been to. The owner, Trick, was also really great working with us and was also into the propping scene.
The people waiting in line definitely seemed surprised to see the Ghostbusters walking up to the haunted house, but by the time we got to the entrance people were yelling "Ghostbusters! Yeah!" and cheering us on. The workers in the house were really good about posing for pictures so we could photoshop them later.
The costumes in the house were also nothing short of incredible. In the third part of the haunted house we ran into a guy dressed as Jason. Imagine our surprise when he lifted up his mask and we saw a dessicated zombie head straight out of Friday the 13th VI. It was incredible. They also had a guy who was a dead ringer for Freddy, wearing what we were told was an original prop hand from one of the films.
The highlight at the haunted house was definitely at the end. They had a guy with a chainsaw dressed as leatherface who chased people out of the haunted house, and it was set up so that this chase was in full view of people who were waiting in line to go into the haunted house. By the time we'd made our way around through the three different areas there was nobody in the line that had seen us go in or knew we were there. The looks of surprise and cheers that we got when they saw the Ghostbusters running out of the haunted house were priceless. Then, as always, we had a bunch of people come up to ask us for photos.
If you're in the Indy area then you should definitely give The Asylum House a visit. You can get more info at their website.
After that we hit downtown Indianapolis. We nearly caused several traffic accidents because of people stopping to yell "who ya gonna call!" or stopping to get a picture of us. Bouncers at a few of the downtown bars asked us to come in for a free drink, but we've learned the hard way in the past that drunk people and props= bad.
All in all it was a fun evening. Unfortunately my camera ran out of memory and we had to switch to a backup.
