Site News: Yes, I'm Back
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 11:09 AM EST
The last time you heard from me was on December 3, 2007. As far as really working on the site goes, time might have as well stopped. After the last news posting, I ended up taking my mom to an emergency room because of her heart problems. I wouldn't be home until Monday night. Multiple trips to the hospital during the week, then hospitals on Thursday, December 6. That same day my mom had another cardiac procedure. I understand if she has to have one more, the 11 one will be free. That's a joke. =O Even prior to that Thursday, stress had reached maximum levels. No thanks to family members. As it was Christmas time, we did what families do, fight. =/ Put it this way, things were so hetic and stressful, I still have friends and other family members who don't know what happened with my mom and why I haven't been around.
With things being cool between those family members and I by Thursday, I guess I dealt with normal stress and understandably was there for mom. Thankfully, the procedure was successful and mom seemed so much better immediately after being in an operating room. On December 7, my dad and I made our last trip to the hospital to pick mom up after she was discharged.
Before my last update last year, I had wanted to post a couple of site/news updates which would have lead me to doing part my other job, approving franchises. The following week I skipped the then site/news updates and worked on franchise applications. Unfortunately because of the timing, I really wasn't able to post about the new franchises. The Franchise List was updated quitely though. Franchise news will be posted.
After New Years, my parents and I were still finishing up what was suppose to be our 2007 appointments. Personally that didn't end for me until yesterday, January 10, 2008. It involved updating insurance, speeding safely, and making sure my platelet count was good enough. If you're keeping score at home, the platelet stock market is + 16,000 from late last year.
Besides the franchise operations part of my job, new site updates are being worked on. When they're finished, that news will be posted.
Thanks everybody who kept checking the site between December 3 and this morning. Your support is appreciated. So here's to a positive and healthy new year for our clients, employees, and the Ghostbusters fan base.

To coincide with the video game, due in finer retail stores everywhere October 2008, Ghostbusters International® began its own marketing blitz of sorts. Beginning with an Always Hiring splash page. Followed by new merchandise.
The campaign (or it might just be a major coincidence) has already brought in teams of new franchises across the United States and abroad with inquiring emails from around the world.
Ghostbusters International® has been accepting franchise applications almost since its humble beginnings. At least that was the original plan. If you have the qualifications to become a Ghostbuster or know people who do, check out our franchise survey and our requirements.

Franchise News: New Franchises
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 3:23 PM EST
As mentioned previously, the 4Q of 2007 saw a growth in franchises worldwide. Beginning with Ghostbusters Of Oxfordshire, managed by Oliver Patrick White and Jay Martin. Back on our side of the pond, Ghostbusters International® opened its 5th franchise in Southern IL. Managed by Dustin Snelgrove.
We were finally able to expand into Minnesota with our Twin Cities franchise, managed by Dr. Jason Skoby. Showing that paranormal activity does leave California, Ghostbusters International® opened its first franchise in Utah. The Ghostbusters of Salt Lake City is managed by Dr. Mavric Roberts Ph.D.
On the field agent front, Ghostbusters International® has a South Carolina agent by the name of Morgan Skye who operates out of Charleston. Hopefully Charleston Ghostbusters will have enough clients and cases for franchise growth.
Welcome aboard, make sure your franchise fees aren't late.

Corporate News: Motivational Posters
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 7:52 AM EST
If you feel the way we do at Corporate, then you know the original inspirational, motivational posters that are standard in the work place are so tired. Sure, bald eagles are a symbol. Wouldn't franchise employees feel more inspired and motivated by posters they can actually relate to? Drawing from experiences from our 23 + years in the business, Ghostbusters International® worked closely with Phantom 50 Enterprises on 17 Ghostbusters themed motivational posters.

Site News: "I did it, I'm a Ghostbuster!" - Louis
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 7:53 PM EST
If you grew up in the 1980s, repeatedly watched Ghostbusters, (later on The Real Ghostbusters too) and acted like you were really a Ghostbuster, then becoming a Ghostbuster when you grew up was a career choice you considered. It was so important to you, you moved becoming a Ghostbuster before being a sports star, fire fighter/police officer or astronaut. Problem was until you were in high school, maybe even college, you didn't really know how to make Ghostbusting a career. I wish we had a web site then! With any career, especially one that involves opening a business, it takes time, training, virtues, and huge somes of money. Its understandable as most people grow older, they need to make decisions that best fit their lives. Most people don't become Ghostbusters. Just because Ghostbusting isn't your day job, doesn't mean it can't be one of your hobbies.

Site News: Links Area Updated
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 10:29 AM EST
Our Links area has been updated. With what we feel is the closest, official website for Dan Aykroyd. If you know of a more official website for Mr. Aykroyd, please let us know.
The website, bluesmobile.com seems to be a related site to the House Of Blues. Which was co-founded by Dan "Elwood Blues" Aykroyd.
