This past Tuesday my parents and I began to deal with what could have been an emergengy situation. In the past I've talked about how important organizations like The American Heart Association has been to GBI and franchise employees. On Tuesday after talking to my mom's cardiologist, it was determined that my mom would need another heart "procedure." My mom has been in the hospital since and will be having this "procedure" this afternoon. I apologize for those of you who I am friends with as well as colleagues if I hadn't had a chance to talk to you about this personally. Which is understandable I know.
This is also why I haven't answered business email, been on the board posting much, or have been able to update the site with news or updates. Just because ghostbustersinternational.com doesn't seem up-to-date, that doesn't mean business isn't happening like usual. Have you been to our forums? Seems to be some good discussions taking place as well as real friendship.

June 3, 2006 - Site News: Personal Leave Over (More Or Less) - 4:39 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
I was on leave long before I posted two days ago. If you read the forums today, you wouldn't have really known my family and I had a near emergency last week. Which is great since any crisis has been adverted. Or is over. Do they mean the same things? You think I actually checked a thesaurus to find out? Everything went exceptionally well with my mom's "procedure" and I'm happy to report she's home from the hospital. She'll follow up with her cardiologist in three weeks and in the meantime is following his orders. Moving away from that slowly, things at work can return to normal. Normal being a relative term for us.
We'll be posting news and updating the site again as we try to catch up. As well as answering business email once the server isn't encountering "internal server errors."
June 3, 2006 - S.A.C.C Levels Elevated - 5:27 PM EDT

Talk about a very bad time to take a leave of abscence. "This just in" from Dr. Marc Wagner, CEO of The Sacramento Ghostbusters. This is paraphrased by myself. Late last night (pacific time) a break in occured at The Sacramento Ghostbusters HQ. Ironically enough the burglars were children who somehow were able to compromise the security of The Sacramento Ghostbusters' protection grid. Unfortunately Dr. Wagner's containment field and the secondary systems failed. The reason is unknown and a full investigation is under way from Ghostbusters International®, government agencies, and The Sacramento Ghostbusters. That is once many of the ghosts have been captured again.
Dr. Venkman issued this statement after being woken up in the middle of the night. (eastern time) "We're working with our west coast franchises, government agencies, and law enforcement officials to get the situation under control. I have the upmost confidence in the professionals from our company and those we're working with." - Dr. Peter Venkman
Dr. Wagner has followed protocol for such an emergency situation. Ghostbusters International® has followed up his "all points alert" for California by contacting all our franchises throughout North America. And sending/deploying mobile containment unit trucks along the west coast of North America.
With the potential number of ghosts who may be on the run, Ghostbusters International® has raised the S.A.C.C level to red. We advise the public to go about your business and report any paranormal (potentially strange) activity to your local franchise. Or by calling Ghostbusters International® at (884) 555-8489.

June 3, 2006 - Event News: This Weekend's Conventions - 6:02 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
As if it wasn't an already busy weekend for our company, franchises, and field agents, others are doing spook checks and public relations work. Oh yeah, having fun too. Here's the rundown of this weekend's events that we're aware of.
Because of my own personal circumstances I'm not able to attend Chiller's June show or Wizard World Philadelphia. I don't know if members from Ghostbusters-NJ* attended or will be attending either convention. However its probable that fans and clients are at Chiller enjoying themselves, perhaps meeting Steven Segal who couldn't bother to stay one more night at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Secaucus, NJ.
Meanwhile across the highways and near The Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, PA, our field agents*, fans, and possibly clients are enjoying themselves (and hopefully promoting GBI) at Wizard World. Which is taking place at The Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Elsewhere on the east coast in Tampa, Florida Mick Nielson*, CEO of Ghostbusters: Tampa District and part of his staff are at Metrocon, "Florida's largest Anime convention." Metrocon is being held at The Tampa Convention Center.
Finally on the west coast in Los Angeles, CA (be advised of elevated S.A.C.C levels) actor Ernie Hudson* will headline Snoop Dogg's Hood Of Horrors panel at LA’s Burbank Airport Hilton.

It isn't as crazy as you might think.
Some of you might remember the crazy guy foretelling of a comet on May 25, if not check out Save Lives In May for more information. We at Ghostbusters International® watched this with great interest as we always do to possible apocalyptic scenarios. May 25 came and went with no comet and no tsunami. The danger (which most disbelieved anyway) was passed.
Unfortunately, this may not be the case. GBI was sent an anonymous message last Monday that we were only now able to confirm. The reason the comet did not hit was because it was slowed down and broken up as it passed by Jupiter and its immense gravitational fields. At that time it was discovered it was not a comet at all but a “Extra Organic” material. To put it simply a mass of crystallized PKE.
This wave of much smaller particles is expected to begin entering Earth’s atmosphere at approximate 0100 hours eastern time. Though all fragments are expected to burn up during entry, this combustion will release a heavy amount of what can only be called Extraterrestrial PKE into the ectosphere.
We're sorry for the short notice, but it was due mostly to us trying to figure out what the effects of this event might be. However, we could not conclude what that might be and can only warn GBI franchises to be on look out over the next several days. During this time the S.A.C.C. level will remain at red.

June 9, 2006 - Site News: The Real Ghostbusters - Xmas Marks the Spot - 6:21 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
Know what I almost always disliked? I won't say hate as its such a strong word. When one of your favorite TV shows or a block of them would rerun Christmas episodes in the summer months. Sometimes I would still watch them, it would be hard to get into the spirit (no pun intended) of Christmas when you're wearing shorts, the air conditioning is on full blast, you're mostly wrapped up in summer time activities, and it doesn't get dark until about 9 PM. This wasn't the delay for getting the final episode up from season 1. I do admit when I finally had the time, I wasn't looking that forward to watching the first Christmas episode from The Real Ghostbusters.
Once I started watching it and reviewing it, it felt kind of nice. Though still way too early to be thinking about Christmas. Believe me the department stores and the malls will be doing that before we're all ready. At least we (well the writers, artists, etc) were smart enough not to make this episode contain all the usual holiday jokes you seem to see in every comedy. Then again The Real Ghostbusters doesn't fall under the TV comic genre anyway.
In Xmas Marks the Spot The Real Ghostbusters accidentally get sent back in time, back to Victorian times where somehow the novella, A Christmas Carol is real! While there the RGBs bust the Christmas spirits, not realizing who they are or what they have done. When they return to the future, Christmas no longer exists! The only way to correct the time line is to go back in time, bringing the Christmas ghosts with them! Can the RGBs save Christmas before the doorway closes forever? Or will they and everyone else in the future have a "bah, humbug!"
Find out this weekend and all week long from the final episode of season 1!

June 10, 2006 - Event News: Franchise Gathering Opportunity - Dragon*Con In Atlanta, GA - 2:20 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
You knew we were going to talk about Dragon*Con sooner or later. There's always a handful of conventions like that. Ghostbusters International® usually hears about Dragon*Con and the others months in advance. This year is no different. Once one of our field agents and potential upcoming franchise in Central GA brought the convention talk to the GBI forums, we knew we'd be updating the site with news and information in an upcoming update.
Ghostheads,* our field agents,* and our franchises* across the country (at least on the east coast) will be at Dragon*Con, "America's largest, multi-media, popular arts convention - focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film" the long weekend of September 1st-4th.
Dragon*Con has a parade and from what we were told some of these ghostheads, etc may be in it. A hearse might at the convention too. Although for Ghostbusters International® that's business as usual. As we find out more, we'll keep everybody informed.
*Ghostbusters International® can't be held responsible for a change in a franchise's, field agents', or fan's schedule.
June 10, 2006 - Event News: "Ghostbusters Day" - Rome, Italy - 3:08 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
Matteo, webmaster of Ghostbusters Italian Fan Club is trying to organize with some others "Ghostbusters Day" which is tentatively scheduled to take place in the early months of 2007. They're in contact with actors, singers, producers, and more. Who they're in contact with from the films is unknown. If we find out, we'll keep everyone informed.
If you speak or read Italian this is part of what Matteo had to say: "Il Ghostbusters Day arriverà a Roma (Italia) nei primi mesi del 2007.
Part of it translated in English. "The continuous plan is to evolve Augur and myself so GB Day can satisfy all fans, not only those who are Italians! We decree that there is an interest for all the fans that GB Day can take place in Rome like in America or in other European countries. The importance makes it right!
I hope that all the ghostheads can help plan it, anyone can help me with info, straight etc. I can be contacted through my email." I hope too I translated that correctly. If I didn't and you're fluent in Italian and English, please email me.
June 10, 2006 - Fan News: Ecto-1 Replica Plates - 3:43 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
Ghosthead and prop makers Travis Bell made these unauthorized film replica Ecto-1 license plates. Now normally we'd probably get Louis and his dream team on a guy like this before he could even sell his first plate. "Where you're going pal, they make license plates for free." - Dr. Venkman. Which is what he said when we told him of these replica plates. Before GBI decided to look into the legality of making a movie plate that the fine state of NY doesn't even use anymore, Dr. Venkman decided to check out Travis' replica plates. As did Dr. Stantz, comparing it to the original and screen used versions. They like myself are actually impressed. It came out very much like a screen used plate since the fan base helped create it. Including Bob Shelley, Special Effects Coordinator. Who helped with the street split scene in NY.

Rockford whose a moderator at retroremakes.com informed the community that Retro Remakes is having a competition to make new retro games for the "personal computer." Sorry Mac users, you'll need a Windows® emulator or an Intel® based Mac with either an emulator running or booting up Windows XP. (How wrong does that last part sound?) It just so happens that about 5 game makers from the site are developing what else, Ghostbusters games.
We've been over to Retro Remakes and checked out how the development has been going. These are our hightlights so far. A model of Mr. Stay Puft that will be seen in one of the games. Here's the thread from the developer, Smila. A screen cap from another Ghostbusters game in the works. This game is being developed by Inspector Trout, his thread is here. Another member, OogyBoogy is revamping the original Ghostbusters game. Claims its coming to GBA. Others just want it for their PCs.

June 12, 2006 - Site News: Promotional Area - 8:41 PM EDT

While going over my business email I realized I needed to put a couple of new items on the site. We just couldn't add a couple of links or images and be done with it. We figured as we were uploading new banners to promote this site, why not create a new area that's more for promotional purposes? Remenscent of the old recruitment drive area. And thanks to our franchise in progress in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we received an idea and a new survey form. Its hard to believe Ghostbusters International® didn't have this ready again years ago. We redesigned our franchise/field agent survey and added it along with the new banners. We could never forget The Original Ghostbusters Training Manual. And in an upcoming update, we'll update our other forms.

June 14, 2006 - Site News: GBI, The Vampire Slayers - 12:16 PM EDT
Posted By: Kevin Kemarly, Staff Advisor.
Note: This was written yesterday evening. - Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops.
Since I am stuck on this flight, Mr. Roy has asked me to summarize the events so far.
On February 24 of this year a Vampire by the name of Valek posted on the GBI message board at this thread. He was requesting that we give him the names of the Shadow Chasers.
Normal franchise style reports followed from our staff, and it was revealed that the Shadow Chasers were really the former title of the Tampa Ghostbusters.
After a few verbal rounds with THE Walter Peck, Valek fell off the radar until June 10th. He posted a threat, wanting us to hand over the Tampa division or else he would release a bio weapon known as the T-Virus, a virus that functions basically by turning people into zombies. Mick Nielson, CEO of the Tampa group posted soon after that he was going to finish the job once and for all.
That evening Tampa receptioniost Rita Wilson posted frantically that Mick and teammate Julie Madison were missing. From there the thread became a fully integrated investigation focusing on finding Mick and Julie, and at the same time finding a vaccine or cure for the T virus. Julie was later discovered but Mick was still missing.
The investigation must have hit too close to home, because late last night early this morning, both Vincent Belmont’s franchise, and mine were attacked by vampires. Belmont using one of Mick’s shirts used his gifts of wizardry to locate Mick and now he, his wife Jill (Valentine) Belmont, and Dr. Gabriel Martin, along with Josh Kanosky and myself are flying down, while Chace Ambrose and his central Georgia team are driving down.
I am not exactly sure what to expect, besides a lot of flying protons. I have had four major end of the world type scenarios before, but this might take the taco. The franchises not involved in the taskforce are standing by as backup, I hope we don’t need them.

Reports are very slowly trickling in from our franchises and field agents about this multi-franchise case file. Considering the circumstances, the S.A.C.C levels will remain at red.

Our multi-franchise collaboration was a complete success. Mick Nielson, CEO of our Tampa District had this excellent news to tell our ghostbusters. "We came, we saw, we kicked its ass! We're back baby and we ruled all over Valek and his crew. The T-Virus situation has been contained. We now posess an exact list of each and every sample of the virus and where its hidde We also intercepted a T-Virus bomb that was being constructed. Valek and all his minions are dead and we've been getting some well-deserved sleep. I'd like to thank everyone at GBI, especially Kevin and Vincent's teams for the rescue.".
Dr. Venkman also has the following to say, "Congratulations on getting rid of this Valek guy. He was more a thorn in our side then 'ol Peck. I know, hard to believe. I'm proud of all you ladies and gentleman for facing this adversary together. You are the reason this company continues to thrive. You newer franchises are the backbone, keeping your areas safe and saving the world from the supernatural who come around here and shake our monkey tree. Nicely done."
A much more detailed report is being written by Mr. Nielson for Ghostbusters International®.

Highlights included the unveiling of the Apple Inside™ logo on The Cube, Steve Jobs wearing a specially made ghostbusters uniform with the new Apple Inside™ logo, giving away Apple merchandise, and Dr. Venkman firing a nutrona wand at the multi-year delayed (beta) of Windows Vista™.
After the press conference Ghostbusters International® and Apple executives along with our employees met up with all the fans for a meet and greet. When I finally could get away, I got to work on getting the pictures up. It was great to work on this site from Apple's 5th Ave. location!

No idea who could have done that. The new pictures as well as the day time photos are all in our Apple Inside™ area.

June 22, 2006 - Franchise News: New Franchise - Central Georgia - 7:27 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops
As field agents Chace Ambrose and Lee Greenway had already dealt with Confederate spirits and were instrumental in stopping a vampire named Valek from hurting our clientele and our corporation. With those kind of skills, Ghostbusters International® knew we wanted to give them franchise status and incorporate them into our company. All of us waited longer then we wanted to, finally the wait is over.
Georgia officially has a new franchise in town, er in the central area. The Central Georgia Ghostbusters are more then ready for all of central Georgia's supernatural elimination needs.
June 22, 2006 - Franchise News: New Franchise - Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas - 7:53 PM EDT

In the last couple of years, Ghostbusters International® has gained and lost our only franchise in Texas. While it was a loss to our clients and our company, we would come to gain a new franchise. Whose love for ghostbusting may as well be as big as the state he lives and does business in. That gentleman, Jacob Lockyer. Before now Jacob was a field agent along with his staff. And like us, shares in Ghostbusters International® plans for expansion in Texas.
We're pleased that the cities of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX have a new team to call when something is strange in the neighborhood. Who ya gonna call in the 214/972 area code? The best, the beautiful, the only DFW Ghostbusters.
Live outside of Dallas/Fort Worth? Its our understanding that Ghostbusters may be setting up shop in Houston this year.

In the season opener, Janine finally has a evening off having trained another receptionist to take over her duties. How will she spend her evening? By having dinner with her family and Egon. Before they leave Egon works on new ghostbusting technology which has Slimer checking it out...a little too closely. Causing a number of unwanted guests at the firehouse. Can Peter, Ray, Winston, and the new receptionist deal with a whammy of a problem without Egon? And when its all over, will Janine's Day Off be all she hoped it would be?

June 26, 2006 - Site News: Minor Design Changes In Progress - 6:00 PM EDT
Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Ghostbusting Ops.
I logged onto the GBI server to put up today's update when I had an idea. I know, clear our heads. We don't want to think of anything. All I had wanted to do was change some colors. Quickly remembering how I can't just do something simple because in some previous update we made a graphic that had to have a white background behind it for some reason. That's alright, because it would blend in, until now. Then it had me wondering if different graphics might fit the new color scheme better. In some cases, I'd call that a big yes.
I've been experimenting with all of this for over 3 hours now. I also remembered that if I change this main page's layout, I have to do it for every area of this site. And that some graphics might be temporarily broken or not sized correctly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We make these changes to better serve our clients, employees, and the fan base.

As well as new archived pictures when describing who we are, what we do, and in our policies. Speaking of which we read over our entire About section today, rewriting certain parts to better fit the needs of our club.
