Bryan Fear, CEO of Westcoast GBs and his staff will be* at ConDor XIII, San Diego's "longest running science ficton & fantasy convention" on Saturday, March 4th and Sunday March 5th.
*Ghostbusters International® can't be held responsible for a change in a franchise's schedule.
If that wasn't enough reason to go to ConDor XIII, how about to meet Visual Effects Supervisor, Ronald B. Moore. Mr. Moore worked on the Optical Lineups for our Ghostbusters. He's also well known for much of the visual look he brought to Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I received an email from Bryan Fear, CEO of Westcoast GBs that La Jolla Village Cinemas in La Jolla, CA will be showing Ghostbusters II as part of there "Revenge Of The Sequels" series on April 8, 2006. Showtime: Midnight Madness. That's great as one of our major case files turned movie is getting the respect it deserves.
To make sure it actually does, Bryan and his Westcoast GBs are scheduled* to make an appearance.

Dr. Vinicius Ayres, CEO of Paranormal Labs and his staff made Ghostbusters International's® first international franchise commercial. Its really a commercial to advertise our franchise in Sao Jose dos Campos - SP. Dr. Ayres and his staff were cool enough while adding in English subtitles (which is cool in itself) to plug Ghostbusters International® and our website. As they should. ;) Thanks ladies and gentleman!

In case you weren't aware by now, (uh we never posted the press release on the site) Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released 3 volumes (3 separate DVDs) of the classic cartoon The Real Ghostbusters. You can check the press release at Spook Central. They're not made for the collector, the devoted fans. For reasons that defy logic, (its not all about money in this case as they retail for $6.99 USD each at most stores) S.P.H.E seemed to have released these random episodes so parents can entertain their small children. And if The Real Ghostbusters was still being shown or it was new, that might make sense. While we're happy if young kids and older kids are watching the first cartoon all the time, when was the last time (prior to this release) you knew of a small child even knowing who we are?
This might be why (yeah ok) S.P.H.E is re-packaging Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II on March 14, 2006 separately, at least in Region 1. We still recommend picking The Real Ghostbusters DVDs up (kids or no kids) as supporting Sony may show them that complete seasons could be worth their while.

March 6, 2006 - Business News: Ghostbusters Score - 10:27 AM EST

We're not really sure what the deal is. A CD club website, Varese is selling the late Elmer Bernstien's Ghostbusters Score. Which of course was made for Ghostbusters. See, best we've known for nearly 22 years the score was never sold offically. According to Varese the score finally makes its premiere. However only 3,000 copies were made.
The artwork looks pretty cool, (not sure why my bosses have a glow around them) we're really not sure if the score is another burned copy or actually a produced, professional CD. They claim it has "glorious sound." If anyone has any additional information, please let us know. As a bonus to what's not included in the original score, this release has 3 tracks that were supposedly recorded, but never released to the original score. From there track listing: 37. Magic, 38. Zool, (yes, they spelled it wrong) and 39. We Got One! (Alternate)
Whether its a burned copy or professional, its still a lot cheaper then what I paid for a copy years ago. Personally its not worth $19.99 USD for new artwork and three short bonus tracks. It might be to you.

I saw a message from Phantomfriar2002 and he's cleared up whether this score release is official or not. Apparently Varese Sarabande is the only record label that deals exclusively with soundtrack albums. Hopefully if this is licensed as its supposed to be and it sells well, we'll see more then 3,000 copies made.

Hot Topic is selling some Ghostbusters merchandise again. First up is our familiar "no ghost" red ringer/white t-shirt. Which retails for $18.00 USD. XXL costs more. They're also selling for the first time (as far as we know) "no ghost" logo white hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) for $36.00 USD. XXL again costs more.

Were you disappointed that S.P.H.E didn't release complete seasons of the hit cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters last week? Felt it was bad enough that they didn't include Take Two in last summer's gift set? So were we, then we moved on. Then became disappointed again. We know as employees and ghostheads, we're due (20th anniversary) this year at the earliest to have complete seasons.
S.P.H.E doesn't seem to have plans in place for season 1, but Ghostbusters International® does. Beginning this week (maybe next) we'll be uploading season 1 of The Real Ghostbusters to the website. Unfortunately because GBI doesn't give the media division enough money, we don't have the memory and bandwidth required to upload and host the entire season. Plus our dream team of lawyers would probably have to work something out with S.P.H.E.
Our idea is to try to bring back part of the Saturday mornings we remember from 1986 and on when we can. Today you can watch or download the first season episode, Take Two. Note: As of March 30th this episode has gone off-line. It'll "re-air" later in season 1. Its the episode I and others felt also should have also been included in last year's DVD gift set. In case you don't remember the episode, our cartoon bosses are hired as consultants to make sure the studio (a bad version of Columbia) makes our blockbuster film right. They along with Slimer end up in Hollywood. Seems like before the RGBs can settle in, they're dealing with a miserable director and a "ghost" that breaks the needle on the RGB P.K.E meter!
The only difference between this episode and the original airing is that part of the end is edited. Our cartoon bosses make it (late) to the premiere of Ghostbusters, even going into the theater. They're even watching towards the beginning of the film. When this episode re-aired on Fox years later, that part was cut out. We're not entirely sure why. Either way its an enjoyable episode.

March 9-10, 2006 - Site News: Design Changes - 3:21 EST

Recently, Ben King, Spirit Photographer for Ghostbusters U.K decided to unveil his 1st version of our Ghostbusters name patch font. Until 2006, Ghostbusters International® had never released the "name patch" font. That might be because our font wasn't workable for programs such as Photoshop®. Which is a shame, however you might be able to see why GBI wouldn't want non personnel having the font.
From a franchise and fan point of view, we're glad see the creativity and hard work that went into creating the name patch font. It seems to have been well received. From what I last heard, a newer version will be in the works too.
Yesterday I thought that this name patch font would work well for ghostbustersinternational.com. I began to play around with it and our graphics. I like what I came up with, yet revisions were needed. Then other ideas came to mind late in the afternoon. Like the new name patch menu and name patch graphic header. A special thank you to Dr. Vinicius Ayres, CEO of Paranormal Labs also for his "no ghost" logo patches that went into making the GBI graphic header.
You may see "stretchy" graphics or the old "metal" floor background on the non main areas of the site. We're well aware of this and we'll make the corrections as soon as we're able to.

March 18, 2006 - Site News: Media Area - 9:20 AM EST

I began working on the media area early last week. This update definitely could have been posted sooner under normal circumstances. If you read this letter or had read it when I wrote it on January 19th, you might understand the delay. Despite this minor set back in posting the update, I'm happy to report that our media area which has gone through extensive changes is back! It was the second major area which needed to be redesigned and given an upgrade.
What's new? You'll find press coverage with some new press added. In the future, we'll be adding more whether its from GBI or our franchises. A new area called News Footage contains footage from a news station, fans, and of course our franchises. In our familiar commercials section, you won't be seeing at this time ads for our old toy line or other products. Its been redesigned to include TV/Web Exclusive ads that GBI or our franchises have made. Two new sections include wall papers which is in the works and Case Files Turned Into Movies. Outside our business, many might know them as fan films. More discussion about having a franchise's case files turned into a movie coming in the near future.
What happened to the soundtracks and the famous music video? We're still deciding if the sound tracks and scores will return. The original sound track was released again last month. The original score for the first time ever was released officially a couple of days ago. As far as the video, naturally its been a success, getting over 2,000 hits. We believe it will have its own page which means we'll have some work to do. ;)
Media area is back thread.

Hey everybody! Good morning! Its Saturday, um in this part of the world. That means two things! Sitting in your pajamas eating cereal while watching cartoons. Not the stuff that seems to be on 24/7. The good cartoons, the best from a time when cartoons and Saturday mornings meant something. And you knew you would always remember those Saturdays. Sure it probably meant more to guys like Rich, Bill, Vin, Kyle, etc. Some adults could enjoy it sorta like they could too. ::looks around::
Twenty years later, months from the actual anniversary Ghostbusters International® brought back part of those Saturdays. You have to supply your own cereal and milk. I recommend 1% because its healthier then 2% and doesn't taste watery like skim. Oh right. As Mr. Roy posted about on March 6, 2006 GBI does and will have episodes from the first season of The Real Ghostbusters up on our site to watch and download. Every Saturday or so a new episode will be available.
Maybe I can host them? Wow! This week, our premiere episode, Ghosts 'R Us is on ghostbustersinternational.com right now!!! ::spoon gets knocked out of the bowl of cereal, falling on the keyboard::

March 20, 2006 - Film News: Entertainment Weekly Mentions Ghostbusters 3 - 3:08 PM EST

Louis was going to post about this as he seems be the biggest supporter around here of Ghostbusters becoming a trilogy. However its tax season which keeps him extra busy. Personally I think he's scouring the internet for this alleged indie Ghostbusters thing by Jason Reitman. According to Entertainment Weekly Issue # 869 for the week of March 24, 2006, the Reitmans (Ivan and his son Jason) have "no plans to direct a third installment." Tell us something we didn't already know. And so E.W writers Hannah Tucker and Eric Kohn have. "My indie satirical version of Ghostbusters would disappoint most people." - Jason Reitman.
We're not exactly sure what that means. Besides Jason Reitman in some way, shape, or form parodying our business. We also think E.W liked being able to write the pop culture phrase, Who ya gonna call? and being able to put the word slime into a professional body of work.

Dr. Vinicius Ayres, CEO of Paranormal Labs and Vice President Dr. Adriana Ribeiro were the cover stories of two magazines. A February edition of TIME (the Brazilian edition) and a German magazine, Der Spiegel. Which is kinda like U.S.News & World Report. You can find scans of both covers in our media area.
Correction: Der Spiegel is more like TIME or Newsweek.

I've been tweaking GBI's media area. While doing so I added a spot for music videos. Which may grow to have its own page again. We have some ideas. Currently we only have Ray Parker Jr.'s Ghostbusters video up in our media area. In the future its possible to have music videos from Ghostbusters II. Or even franchise music videos.

Saturday Mornings Are Back continues this weekend with our second episode from The Real Ghostbusters. In Killerwatt, an electric ghost somehow has possession over other ghosts. What's worse is that these ghosts are messing with the power supply for NYC! Can The Real Ghostbusters pull the plug in time? Find out this morning, only on ghostbustersinternational.com!
Also if you missed last week's premiere episode, Ghosts 'R Us, you can still watch/download it all this week. Oh, we're not quite sure if GBI will allow Louis Tully to host Saturday Mornings Are Back. The jury is still out on that decision.
