Event Recaps: Central GA Ghostbusters Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 4:03 PM EDT About two months ago when I should have updated Ghostbusters International® news the Central GA Ghostbusters marched in Macon, GA's 25th cherry blossom parade. Here's more about the day from Chace. "I'm driving Spectre-1, Anthony Cagle is marching with his slimeblower. Mitchell Brinkley is on the other side of the car with a proton pack. (out of view). There is also a video of the parade as shot by Georgia Public Television." Pictures can be found in the Cherry Blossom parade thread. The weekend of May 7th, Chace and crew headed out to Reynolds, GA for The Georgia Strawberry Festival. Chace shared this great, not unexpected story with us. "When we crossed in front of the main announcer stand he said, 'and here's the Central Georgia Ghostbusters, I don't know about you but I feel safer already!'" Franchise News: New Franchises Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 4:51 PM EDT While site news wasn't being updated I was working at times to catch up on franchise applications. You may have noticed recently that the franchise list has been updated. S.O.S. Fantômes Montréal is lead by Martin Caron. S.O.S Fantomes have been busting têtes dans un sens spitural, naturellement since the late 80s. This also marks our first franchise in Montreal. CEO John Cord founded Illinois 4th franchise, Galena Ghostbusters. John and co-founder Chad even cover Southwest WI and Northeast IA. There's a new sherrif (um franchise) in Dallas! His name is Thiago X. Nascimento, founder of our second Dallas Ghostbusters franchise. Ghostbusters International® has had a long and rich history with Tennessee franchises, dating back to our pioneering days of franchise rights. Unfortunately there had been a void in The Volunteer State...until now. Knoxville Ghostbusters founders Dr. A.J. Geist, Lon Music and their staff are serving all of Eastern TN supernatural needs. Screening News: Ghostbusters Screenings In Succasunna, NJ Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 6:08 PM EDT Last Fall I was trying to put together a Ghostbusters screening. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it wasn't able to work out. Call it fate, call it karma, recently while looking on-line at movie show times I found out that Succasunna Cinema 10 is showing Ghostbusters multiple times next month. I immediately felt like I was 6 and it was 1984 again. Ghostbusters will be shown as part of Clearview Classics. As such Ghostbusters International® and Ghostbusters-NJ would like to have a franchise gathering. We tried to anticipate the conventions we feel our franchises/field agents will be at if we didn't list a confirmed field agent/franchise. Convention News: SoonerCon (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 8:43 PM EDT Austin Young, CEO of the Central Oklahoma Ghostbusters will be at SoonerCon in Oklahoma City the weekend of June 8-10. That's not all, tell us Austin: "We'll have a table set up all three days with some fun activities for the kids (card readings, mood slime testing, psychic testing, etc), and we'll also be participating in the Friday night Charity Benefit Dinner Theatre. We'll be doing a half hour "Ghostbusters Franchise Seminar" skit where we will be bringing members of the audience up on stage to participate in various tests to see if they have what it takes to be a Ghostbuster. A guaranteed good time!" Austin also told us that the Dallas Ghostbusters will also be there that weekend. Site News: New Splash Page Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 9:00 PM EDT For a while now we've been wanting a better welcome/splash page. One that would easily identify our business and what our layout is about. I talked it over with co-workers and staff members. Once the ideas came together, we were able to shape out the splash design. Special thanks to Ghosbusters Internatioanl® employee Kevin Kemarly for making the ECU splash graphic and for getting it done quickly. Which was not necessary, still cool nonetheless. Site News: The Real Ghostbusters Subsite Posted By: Richard Roy, Director Of Franchise Operations at 12:11 PM EDT Since last Tuesday we've been working on The Real Ghostbusters subsite when we could. The major change is in the site's layout. Its kinda a separate website for kids, we wanted the subsite to reflect it. Without it looking like we designed the site in the early days of the internet. Right, we tried that once. Once we were satisified with the layout, we had to update the existing RGB content. Once we finished that, we added new content. That includes: A new area in Ectos about Ecto 2. Where additional equipment was in The Lab, its been moved to a new section in the Equipment area. Its now listed under Other. The Lab will be used for most other parts of The Real Ghostbusters subsite. Possible content includes advertising, artwork, touching on the comics, The Real Ghostbusters Magazine, projects, and my mostly RGB blog. Thursday, May 31, 2007
