Intro & Field Agents
Hello there and welcome to Ghosts & Ghostbusting! In this monthly column I (Dr. Ray Stantz) will be discussing a wide range of topics from how to capture nasty slimers to new technological breakthroughs and even new GBI policies. Hopefully once I run out of ideas you, the readers, can submit questions and I will give lengthy responses that are not necessarily suited for the company message boards.
You can email me HERE or drop a question for me on the Message Board. Enough of this explanation, lets get into this month's topic.
Recently many people have expressed interest in what GBI called Independent Contractors. These were people that wanted to be Ghostbusters, but weren't able to due to personnel constraints. Either there was no interest to start a franchise from local friends and relatives or there was no pre-existing franchise to join. So about a year ago GBI Executive Richard Roy put forth the idea of Independent Contracting. To not exclude any willing participant from busting heads in a spiritual sense of course. The problem, though, is that GBI never really set up the rules to give the IC the chance it needed. Also it is still the position of GBI that we want to see every willing buster part of a franchise.
First of with zero members we have declared the IC DEAD. The division will be rebuilt under my leadership as GBI Field Agents. Field Agents are not individual business like franchises, they are basically Ghostbusters assigned to GBI. Field Agents will be available for assistance to pre-existing franchises. Each agent will be listed per region on the Master Franchise List. They will be given assignments from GBI HQ, and have all the resources necessary to complete the tasks. It is imperative that the Agents keep a good relationship with the franchises in their regions they will become a crucial part of their teams. Some cases will require the agents to join with other agents or franchises to complete them.
GBI FIELD AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Get equipment. There are many resources to make high-quality uniforms and elimination equipment, some of which can and will (in the near future) be found right here on ghostbustersinternational.com.
GBI can loan out equipment on and as needed basis, but uniforms are required.
2. Build and maintain and internet bio page. This basic (at least) on page site should contain information about you and your equipment and pictures showing off you skills as a Ghostbusters, along with and advertisement for area busters to join with. Basically a smaller version of the franchise sites. This will allow you to easily expand to full franchise status if/when you find (con) your friends/ relatives to don the suit and bust with you. If there is no way you can create a website contact Commercial Services Director Bill Malkin and as long as you supply some digital pictures of yourself and ask him nicely, one can be built for you.
3. Apply to Richard Roy, Director of Franchise Operations and submit your name for consideration along with you website URL, and a brief description on why you want to be a GBI Field Agent.
The above are a modified version of the main franchise joining requirements. It is our goal to not make it too easy to become a Field Agent, let's face it GBI survives because of it franchises. If it becomes too easy to be an agent then we loose the backbone of GBI, the hard working individuals who follow in our footsteps to create a self-sufficient professional paranormal investigation and elimination business. In other words, if you become a Field Agent we don't get paid and that makes Dr. Venkman and Louis Tully very unhappy and you don't want to upset and disturb poor Dr. Venkman, do you? And let's face it. Louis is under enough stress as it is, too.
Safe Busting,
Ray
