The Real Ghostbusters proton packs are the ghostbusting device of choice when ghost busting. The proton packs have a hook to securely keep a ghost trap until its needed, a hook for the nutrona wand (also known as throwers) a power cell, a three "windowed" cyclotron, a meter that shows how much charge the proton packs have, an emergency shut down switch, and of course a start up button to turn on the proton packs. The proton packs can also be switched on by pressing the button on the throwers.

Once the start up button has been pushed the power cell and charge meter will come on. The cyclotron begins to power up.

The cyclotron spins in a red color. Within seconds the cyclotron flashes, showing us that its powered up. The power light will also be lit on the nutrona wand.

The throwers have buttons and knobs which can adjust for the frequency of ghosts. These buttons and knobs are also used to adjust how strong the proton beams are, as well as their length. Slimer, Come Home The proton beams change color with certain frequencies.

With the settings adjusted (if needed) The Real Ghostbusters aim at the ghosts and press the trigger button. This activates the proton beams hitting the ghosts. The proton beams wrap around the ghosts so they can't escape.

Once The Real Ghostbusters know the ghosts won't be escaping, its time to put them in the traps. How do they trap the ghosts?
