Peter Venkman

Job: Scientist, Ghostbuster

Personality: Knows how to handle a crowd for business, often makes the decision if The Real Ghostbusters should take a case. When they're on a case Peter has dry humor towards the situation. Venkman feels his looks, sense of humor, and charm can win over the hearts of women. (And they're not that interested in him!) Peter Venkman is the only The Real Ghostbuster to show off his "celebrity status" whenever possible.

Peter's mood can change when Slimer is around, bringing back memories from when they first met at the hotel. (Ghosts R' Us, Citizen Ghost, Etc.) His dislike of Slimer has Peter wanting to bust Slimer at a moment's notice. The others are quick to hold him back, explaining why Slimer is still needed. Deep down though Peter has a soft spot for the Spud.

Ray Stantz

Job: Scientist, Ghostbuster

Personality: Ray is generally happy, can become excited when getting into his work as a real ghostbuster. He is known for his overly technical explanations of scientific and paranormal activity. Usually right after his explaination or Egon's, will translate the scientific for Peter, Winston and Janine. Ray and Egon came up with and invented the equipment used for busting and containing the ghosts.

Ray enjoys working on Ecto 1 along with Winston in their spare time. Ray is also the ghostbuster who gave Slimer his name, adopting Slimer as a kind of pet. (Citizen Ghost)

Egon Spengler

Job: Scientist, Ghostbuster

Personality: Egon is responsible for the former theories that became their paranormal studies. Since he has "science smarts," he along with Ray built the equipment. He is the most serious of The Real Ghostbusters.

As a child Egon had been haunted by the Boogey Man. (The Boogieman Cometh) This led him to studying the paranormal. Despite his leaning towards paranormal science, Egon has a family history of witchcraft (Egon's Dragon) of which he is ashamed. He is also the love interest of their receptionist Janine Melnitz. Egon's behavior towards love often forces him to hide his true feelings for Janine. However, whenever Janine has a date, Egon shows a noticable dislike for them. (Robo-Buster for example)

One time Egon reluctantly quit being a real Ghøstbuster per the request of his Uncle Cyrus. (Cry Uncle) He later returned when Cyrus saw what kinds of ghosts that his nephew and his friends busted.

Winston Zeddemore

Job: Ghostbuster

Personality: Winston is the "every man" of The Real Ghostbusters. Meaning that often complex scientific reasoning or soultions behind a "ghost problem" can be explained on a non scientific level.

In his spare time, he enjoys taking care of Ecto 1, along with Ray. Even entering the car in car shows in NY and NJ. (Follow That Hearse)

Janine Melnitz

Job: Receptionist, Part time Ghostbuster

The Real Ghostbusters have come to count on Janine a great deal, not only as a receptionist, (and a lot more!) but also for her help against ghosts. On occasion, Janine has suited up to help the guys or get them out of trouble. (ie: Mr. Sandman, Dream Me a Dream, Janine's Genie)

As time went on Janine's look and personality would change. In Janine, You've Changed, it was revealed that these changes were the result of her wishes to a "makeoverus lotsabucks." Egon defeated the creature's hold over Janine.

Slimer

Job: Help Ray and Egon learn more about ghosts, eat whenever possible, annoy Peter.

Slimer became a pet of The Real Ghostbusters, sticking around during the rebuilding of the firehouse. (Citizen Ghost) In the same episode Peter tells a reporter that Slimer helped them defeat ghostly versions of themselves, and so they decided to keep him. Slimer also lived with The Real Ghostbusters for scientific reasons. We think its more for all the food they had in the kitchen!

Slimer is good friends with the Stay-Puft marshmallow man.
